Pressure washing for independence!

We’ve celebrated independence day as a community, and now we want you to celebrate as a home or business owner! Keep your siding independent from algae all summer by utilizing our soft wash and pressure washing services!

What is growing on the siding anyway?

The tiny organisms that grow on the roofs and walls of buildings can be moss, algae, lichen, mildew, mold or fungus. Because algae depends on photosynthesis, you’re more likely to find this type of growth on surfaces exposed to the sun — such as the south side of your house. And if your house has a deck — especially one in a shady or wet location — you have to accept that mold and fungus are part of the ecosystem as well. These will grow whether you use composite, pressure-treated decking, and whether or not you paint the wood. If you want to control mold and mildew, you have to kill these organisms.

Power or Pressure washing is the answer and we are here to help!

Removing both algae and mold are easy with a pressure washing as long as it is on the right pressure setting (low pressure)  and you are using the right cleaning chemicals. We recommend having a professional tackle this type of project, because you may have the pressure set too high and damage the siding or shingles on your home. But the biggest mistake that homeowners make is not using the right chemicals in the right proportions.  In that case, they will leave a remnant of fungus, mold and mildew which accelerates growth.

Can You Pressure Wash Gutters Too?

At Shane’s Pristine Powerwash, we can clean your gutters using leaf blowers which remove the loose material, or power wash to remove dirt (and yes even trees)!

Pressure washing is an especially good option for gutters that haven’t been cleaned in awhile; leaves and debris can become solidified. While you can clean gutters by hand, power washing is typically more effective since it can remove grime that’s been accumulating for years.

In other words, it’s actually more efficient to get your gutters pressure washed by a good contractor than doing it by hand.

Most experts recommend cleaning your gutters during seasonal changes (since that’s when debris and leaves begin to fall). We typically recommend that you clean your gutters at least twice per year in or around the start of Fall or Spring.
